Stacking Requirements
- Same model family: Only other Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series switches can be stacked with the C9300-48P-A.
- License level match: All switches in the stack must run the same license level (e.g., Network Advantage).
- Compatible software: Ensure all switches are running compatible IOS XE versions.
- Stacking cables: Use Cisco-approved StackWise-160 cables to connect the switches via their StackWise ports.
Fan
The Cisco Catalyst C9300-48P-A switch uses field-replaceable fan modules designed for redundancy and hot-swapping, ensuring high availability and cooling efficiency.
Fan Module Details
- Redundancy: The switch uses two fan modules in an N+1 configuration. If one fan fails, the other can maintain cooling to prevent overheating.
- Hot-Swappable: You can remove and replace a fan module while the switch is running. Just make sure to replace it within 5 minutes to avoid thermal issues.
- LED Indicator: A green LED lights up when the fan is operating correctly
