Note:

You can install one or two power supply modules in the switch.
If only one is installed, the second slot should be covered with a blank plate.
Power stacking is supported via StackPower, allowing switches to share power across the stack.

Stacking

The NM-2Y module is not used for stacking, but for uplink connectivity to other network devices. Stacking is handled via dedicated StackWise ports on the Catalyst 9300 switches and not through the NM-2Y module.

If you’re planning a deployment and want both stacking and high-speed uplinks, you’ll typically:

Use StackWise ports for stacking.
Use C9300-NM-2Y for uplinks to aggregation or core switches.

Fan

Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series switches also come with three field-replaceable fans and support (N+1) redundancy.
