CISCO AIR-PWRINJ6 802.3AT Power Injector for Aironet AP New

Featuring two Gigabit Ethernet ports, the Cisco Aironet Power over Ethernet Injector It’s used to supply both power and data over a single Ethernet cable to compatible Cisco access points or other network devices, especially when the switch being used does not itself support PoE or doesn’t provide enough power. It supports the 802.3at standard (PoE+) as well as 802.3af. With a maximum wired connection range of 328′ from your network switch to the access point, and a wall mountable design, you can discreetly place the injector near a wall outlet, so that it may blend with the environment.

Key Features of Cisco Aironet PoE Power Injector 802.3at

  • • Provides up to 30 Watts of power, ensuring reliable operation of Cisco access points and other PoE-enabled devices.

Compatibility & Use Cases

  • Designed for powering Cisco Aironet access points, especially those that need more power than basic PoE offers.
  • Some specific Cisco AP models supported include the 1810, 1815, 1830, 2800, 3800 series, etc.
  • Use when your network switch does not provide PoE, or the switch’s PoE is insufficient. The injector sits between the switch and the AP: the switch connects to the injector’s “Switch” port (data in), and the injector’s AP port goes to the access point carrying both data + power.

Things to Watch Out For / Limitations

  • Even though it supports PoE+ (30 W), some very power‑hungry APs or future models may require more than 30 W, so always check the AP’s maximum power draw.
  • Cable length matters: Ethernet voltage drop over long cables can reduce actual power reaching the device. If using very long runs (e.g. >100 m), might need thicker / higher quality cable.
  • Operating temperature: in hotter environments (above ~40 °C), performance might degrade or safety margins reduced, especially at full load.
  • This injector only has one output (for one AP). If you have many APs, you’ll need multiple injectors or a PoE switch with sufficient PoE budget.
